Family Birth Suites is a labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum unit that delivers care to expectant mothers and their newborns.
Overview
- Located at the fourth floor of Pratt Regional Medical Complex building.
- Has six suites.
- Each suite has a private bath, whirlpool, shower and other amenities.
- Has a nursery.
- Has a fully equipped cesarean section suite.
Nursery
A nurse or nursery attendant will care for the new baby at times when the mother feels the need to be alone. Our staff is certified to assist in stabilizing infants in distress as well as caring for babies with other minor complications.
Stork Club
The dietary department prepares a Candlelight Dinner for mom and guest to be served on the evening prior to going home - all in the privacy of the suite environment. Or if preferred, a take-home tray will be provided.
Well-Mother/Well-Baby Clinic
The second or third day after dismissal, mom and baby are asked to return to the Family Birth Suites for a health assessment and to answer any questions.
Growing Families and Web Site Pictures
With written consent, a photo of the newborn will be taken to place on the Family Birth Suites bulletin board. A photo will be sent to the physician at the clinic and one will be given to the mother. Also, with consent, a photo of the newborn will be placed on the PRMC web site.
Visiting Hours
New fathers are welcome to visit at any time. Friends and relatives may visit during visiting hours 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. |
