| A
quick response can mean the difference between life
and death in the case of a stroke. Lifeline,
the leading provider of Personal Response Services,
ensures that older adults living at home receive immediate
assistance in the case of a stroke or other medical
emergency.
Pratt
Regional Medical Center provides seniors
throughout the community the Lifeline service, giving
them immediate assistance 24-hours a day, 365-days
a year.
“There
are approximately 140 people in our service area who
are currently using the Lifeline
services,” PRMC Guest Services and Volunteer
Coordinator said. “By simply pressing an attractive
waterproof button that can be worn either around the
neck or wrist, help can be summoned at anytime of
day or night. All calls are answered by caring monitors
who are extensively trained in a variety of topics
related to the aging process.”
Since
1992, Pratt Regional Medical Center has helped many
seniors over the years live with confidence and independence
in their own homes.
Lifeline
Systems, Personal Response Service, was founded
in 1974 by a husband-and-wife team of gerontologists
- Drs. Andrew S. and Susan Dibner. Today, including
Pratt Regional Medical Center the company supports
over 2,500 partners and more than 350,000 elders from
its Massachusetts operations.
