| Pratt,
KS – Pratt Regional Medical Center recently
completed the installation of a Pyxis MedStation®
SN automated medication dispensing system.
Pratt Regional Medical Center’s Pyxis medication
automation will help decrease medication errors, improve
quality of care and streamline workflow efficiencies.
The Pyxis MedStation SN automated medication management
system helps to reduce medication errors and improve
quality of care. Doug Meyer, PRMC’s Pharmacy
Manager, said this system helps ensure that a pharmacist
reviews the orders prior to medication dispensing.
“The Pyxis MedStation system reduces the chances
of replenishment errors with bar code-based station
replenishment,” said Meyer. “Overall it
improves communication and teamwork between nursing
and pharmacy.”
“This
new system definitely enhances medication administration
efficiencies,” PRMC V.P. of Patient Care, Jenny
Larrison said. “We’ve implemented a lot
of new technology in the past year, which allows us
to continue to provide safe and quality care for our
patients.”
Pratt Regional Medical Center’s mission is to
provide excellent and compassionate healthcare services.
