| The
Pratt County Medical Society announces the opening
of its annual scholarship fund for students of South
Central Kansas entering a health care profession.
The $1000 scholarship will be awarded to one student.
Qualifications

High school seniors that are from or attend schools
in the following counties: Barber, Comanche, Edwards,
Kingman, Kiowa, Pratt and Stafford.

Students must be recommended by their counselors.

Students must shadow physicians, physician assistants,
advanced nurse practitioners or registered nurses
for two to four hours in the following medical specialties:
Internal Medicine, Surgery and Family Practice.

After completing the shadowing, students must write
an essay about the health care field and his/her
shadowing experience.

Finalists will be chosen and interviewed by a committee.
This
scholarship is designed to inform and encourage students
to enter the medical field. The Pratt County Medical
Society is excited to meet with students and answer
any of their health care questions. To recommend a
student and to arrange a shadowing session, call Kim

The
deadline for the Pratt County Medical Society Scholarship
Fund is March 30, 2008. Students must have
their shadowing sessions completed and essays turned
in by this date in order to be eligible for consideration
for the scholarship. The recipient will be announced
in May, 2008.
