A
GIFT OF COMPASSION
Pratt Regional Medical Center is
privileged to have more than a dozen doctors providing
a variety of medical services to patients in need.
A majority of the physicians are in private practices
in Pratt, but some are PRMC employees. Still another
level of medical care is provided by a group of physicians
who come to Pratt periodically to provide special
medical expertise.
Bill
Jennings, M.D. is a specialist who offers needed medical
services in Pratt. His area of specialty is Oncology,
and his patients join PRMC in thinking that he is
a special man. He has a passion for helping people
and trying to control cancer in its many forms through
chemotherapy. He has a generous and gentle spirit.
Dr.
Jennings has roots in south-central Kansas. He is
related to the Lemon family, and enjoys a ranch located
south of Pratt. We are happy that he chose to trade
in his spurs for a practice in medical oncology. If
you are visiting with this gentleman you will hear
him refer to the special feelings he has about south-central
Kansas and PRMC. Usually, it goes something like this:
“This part of the state carries many special
memories for me and the continued association with
PRMC has been very good to me.” He has shared
his talent, his time and his resources in the recent
Capital Campaign with an Emerald Level gift.
He
and his wife, Alicia, raised their family of three
in Leawood, Kansas. His life continues to include
a practice in academic medicine at the University
of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He stays
very busy.
One
of his dreams is to offer Radiation Oncology in Pratt
someday. “There are many who need radiation
treatment. Often radiation and chemotherapy are used
concurrently. It would be easier for those who need
these services to get them right here in Pratt.”
The cost of a radiation facility is multiple-millions
of dollars away, but Dr. Bill still hopes to see it
in Pratt. In the meantime, we have the privilege of
the caring, compassionate care he offers.
The
Pratt Health Foundation is thankful for the
generosity of those who contributed to the success
of the “Simply the Best” Capital Campaign.
The successful effort raised $3.028 million
for the technical medical equipment needs of Pratt
Regional Medical Center.
