Long Term Care Unit Nursing Employee of the Month—August 2010.
Juanita has distinguished herself as a critical member of the long term care unit team. As the Evening/Night Charge nurse, she is recognized as a conscientious nurse who consistently provides “Simply the Best” leadership and guidance to the evening and night teams. Juanita follows up with the nurse’s aides to insure that the residents entrusted to her receive timely, professional and compassionate care.
Juanita’s style is to lead by example—answering call lights and never asks anyone to do a task she would not do. She builds strong, trusting relationships with residents and families. Juanita has keen insight into changes in residents’ conditions and communicates effectively with physicians as needed. The leadership of this facility appreciates the fact that we almost never hear anything following her tour of duty. Simply stated: Things get done without the drama!
Juanita Monroe serves as a superior role model for all long term care nurses and nurse’s aides who promote “Person Centered Care.” She always strives to be the best and demands the same from others! She is brutally honest, trustworthy, thorough and experienced. Juanita’s attention to detail and desire to be “Simply the Best” brings great credit to herself, all long term care nurses and contributes significantly to the growing reputation of excellence at Pratt Rehabilitation and Residence Center.
