At Pratt Rehabilitation and Residence Center (PRRC), we strive to provide a wide variety of activities for residents to enjoy by themselves or with the company of others.   Our outstanding
Activity and Life Enrichment programs provide social, cultural, educational and recreational opportunities.  Programs are developed and scheduled based upon continuous feedback by residents, families and others so as to respond to their changing interests.  The Activity and Life Enrichment programs at PRRC are designed to maintain or enhance the physical, mental, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

The Activity and Life Enrichment programs use both large and small groups settings and as well as individual, one-on-one attention.  Everyone is encouraged to participate and help make our Activity and Life Enrichment programs vibrant, interesting and motivating.  Additionally, activities, pet, music, art and horticulture therapies can all be incorporated as effective non-pharmacological treatments for depression and pain.

Selected group activities include:  Table games; Wii; outings & trips—picnics in the park, Pratt Community College, Barron Theater, fishing trips, community concerts, county fair, etc; Exercise and Fitness class; afternoon matinees; Trivia games; Discussion groups; Resident Council; Birthday parties; Worship & memorial services; and much more.

Special activity programs and events often coincide with holidays and include:  New Year’s celebration; Valentine’s Day; St. Patrick’s Day; Easter; Mother’s Day; Cinco de Mayo; Memorial Day; Father’s Day; Independence Day; Grandparents Day; Patriot Day (9-11); Oktoberfest; Halloween; Veteran’s Day; Thanksgiving; Christmas, etc.

Family Night is held periodically.  Family Night is generally a covered dish meal and serves as a venue to update families concerning organization changes and quality improvement initiatives.  A group of interested families have formed a “Family Council/support group” as a way to help improve the quality of life for residents living at PRRC.
 
VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers play an important role at Pratt Rehabilitation and Residence Center.  They are involved in a variety of resident-centered activities, such as spiritual programs, Bingo, walking, reading, letter writing, or visiting one-on-one with residents.  We encourage volunteers to participate in many of the group activities offered at PRRC. 

BEAUTY / HAIR SALON

A licensed beauty salon is located in the building for your convenience.  Appointments for hair washing, cutting, and/or setting are made through the beautician.  Other services, such as manicures and facials, may also be provided at the salon.  Payment for these services is the responsibility of the resident.
