Pratt Regional Medical Center was recently named one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country. This selection is a subset of the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, named by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. This is the second year in a row for PRMC to make the Top 100 list, but the first year to achieve the Top 20 designation.
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) has announced the 20 highest-ranked prospective payment system hospitals in the country based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health using iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index. These rural and community hospitals will be recognized in an awards ceremony during NRHA’s Rural Hospital Innovation Summit May 21 in San Diego.
Pratt Regional Medical Center President and CEO, Susan Page said, “to be recognized as one of the Top 20 hospitals out of a group of 800 hospitals demonstrates to our community and the region that we serve, they have access to outstanding healthcare providers and staff. They can receive the excellent, compassionate healthcare they need and want here close to home.”
The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charge, and financial efficiency.
“I think it is important to note that we did not apply to be included within this impressive set of hospitals. PRMC was recognized as one of the top rural community hospitals in the United States based on publicly reported data that hospitals are required to provide,” said Page.
