On the south side of Pratt’s main thoroughfare stands Pratt Regional Medical Center, one of the city’s largest buildings. PRMC is Pratt’s largest employer with almost 500 employees. Thanks to the support of the community, the medical center recently completed an extensive expansion and renovation project. Pratt Regional Medical Center’s new facility is a 35-bed acute care hospital along with a long-term care facility, home health agency, rural health clinics and specialty physician clinics and offers new private inpatient rooms, renovated Emergency Department, outpatient area with all of the services easily accessible upon entering the hospital with a new MRI, enhanced Imaging Services and Laboratory, new kitchen, dining area, chapel and gift shop, enhanced surgical services suites including new endoscopy suites, new operating rooms and much more. 

The active medical staff consists of five family physicians, three internists including a gastroenterologist, an oncologist, a general surgeon, a gynecologist, three orthopedic surgeons, a podiatrist, a psychologist and a radiologist.

About Pratt:

Pratt is strategically located in south central Kansas on highways U.S. 54, 281 and 61. The location offers many advantages – small-town charm, yet close proximity to the cities when needed. There is easy access to world class bird-watching, peaking during spring and fall migrations at nearby state and federal wild-life areas. Cheyenne Bottoms, Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, Pratt Sandhills and Texas Lake are all located within a short distance.

Pratt Recreation Department offers youth and adults a variety of sporting interests year round. Adult activities include basketball, indoor/outdoor volleyball, softball, tennis and aerobics. Youth activities include softball, baseball, T-ball, tennis, basketball, soccer, flag football, roller hockey, swimming lessons, swim team, gymnastics, wrestling and karate.
