Patients & Visitors Overview

Preparing for Your Visit or Stay

Your comfort is part of your well-being. We want to make sure that you have all the information you need to prepare for your stay, including your medical records and payment options. Plus, know what items you can bring with you to feel more at home.

If you plan to visit a friend or loved one in the hospital, you’ll find directions to PRMC and information about our gift shop.

What to Expect During Your Stay

Accommodations

PRMC offers a choice of private and semi-private rooms. We always try our best to accommodate your preference, but in case of emergency admissions or limited availability, we may not be able to guarantee your choice. Regardless of your room type, you will receive the same excellent, compassionate healthcare.

What to Bring

Please remember to bring your insurance card and identification. You only need a few personal items like toiletries, bathrobe, slippers with non-slip soles, and night clothes. You may also want to bring some reading materials from home.

What Not to Bring

Please leave your valuables and jewelry at home. The hospital is not responsible for the loss of personal items.

Telephones/Cell Phones/Wireless Internet

We have telephones available in every patient room, and there is no extra cost for using them. For long-distance calls, you can either make a collect call or use a calling card. To make a local call, dial “8” followed by the area code and the number you want to reach. If you need to make a long-distance call, simply dial “0”, and our switchboard operator will be more than happy to assist you.

PRMC has free wireless internet available and cell phones are allowed. However, we are not responsible if these items are lost or broken.

Television

All patient rooms have a television. Use freely, but please keep the volume low as a courtesy to other patients.

Discharge Planning

PRMC social services can help you and your family plan and arrange for the care you will need following your discharge from the hospital. Your nurse can make arrangements for social services to visit with you.

Financial Arrangements

We will bill your insurance company for you. You should be aware that hospital insurance plans do not always provide full coverage for your bill. Charges not covered by your insurance plan are your responsibility. In addition, your hospital bill does not include your physician’s fee or services of other providers such as a radiologist, anesthetist, or consultant. These services will be billed to you separately.
