Payment Information

Paying for Your Care

We understand that healthcare billing and payment can be confusing. We are here to help you understand the process and answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any concerns or inquiries about healthcare billing and payment.

Insurance Requirements

Before hospitalization or use of outpatient services, you are responsible for meeting any special requirements of your insurance plan, such as prior approval, referrals, precertification, or obtaining a second opinion.

Prepayment Requirements

Elective surgical procedures require payment of 50% of the expected balance if they are not covered by insurance or if you do not have insurance. Please contact the patient billing office at (620) 450-1146 to make arrangements.

Co-pays for clinic visits are due at the time of service.

Insurance Filling

If you have current insurance coverage, PRMC will file your insurance claim for you. To meet frequent changes in insurance company requirements, it is necessary for us to have a copy of your insurance card.

We will file your insurance claim and will ask your insurance company to send payment directly to PRMC. If payment has not been received within six weeks of the filing date, you will be billed for the unpaid balance.

Worker’s Compensation Injuries TEDST

If you believe your injury is work-related, you are required to provide PRMC with the name and address of your employer. You must report the accident to your employer within 24 hours. Your employer may require authorization for treatment. Failure to do so may result in loss of benefits. Health insurance plans generally will not pay claims determined to be work-related.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

Kansas law requires claims related to injuries occurring as a result of ownership, operation, maintenance, or use of a motor vehicle, to be filed with motor vehicle insurance. Any claim for an injury arising from contact with a motor vehicle, even if the vehicle is not moving, must first be filed with your motor vehicle insurance. Most health insurance plans will not consider the claim until it has been filed with motor vehicle insurance.

If you sustain an injury associated with a motor vehicle accident, please provide PRMC with information on your motor vehicle insurance carrier and report the injury to your motor vehicle insurance carrier.

Payment Arrangements

If you are unable to pay the entire balance due on your bill, you will need to make satisfactory payment arrangements. We accept American Express, Discover, Visa, and MasterCard credit cards. We offer a prompt pay discount if the patient balance is paid within 20 days from the date of your first statement of charges owed. For information regarding our prompt pay discount, contact the billing office at (620) 450-1146

PRMC partners with the Medical Assistance Program. Some uninsured and underinsured patients may qualify to receive assistance with enrolling for benefits that could help pay for all or part of your services. Please contact the PRMC business office at (620) 450-1146 to request additional information about the Medical Assistance Program.

Patient Assistance Program

If you are unable to pay your bill, a financial counselor from PRMC will work with you to make arrangements. Payment plans are created based on your income, resources, and the amount of the charges owed. Depending on the length of your plan, there may be a fee associated with the payment plan. Contact the business office at (620) 450-1146 for more information.

Physician and Professional Billing

PRMC hospital bills do not include fees for any physician or surgeon services. Your bill will include professional fees if physician assistant services are provided in the Emergency Department. If your treatment includes services from physicians or other providers, you will receive a separate bill from that provider. If you have questions about those bills, please call the telephone number listed on the statement.

Your personal physician, pathologist, anesthesiologist, and radiologist are some of the providers who may bill you separately.
